Bank Accounts For People With Bad Credit
March 25, 2010 | Leave a Comment
There is an increasing amount of people who have bad credit rating. Never before has Britain been in so much debt to society, and now society is in debt to Britain! It is all too easy to open a bank account, spend, spend, spend and end up with the overdraft way exceeding its limits. Credit cards have contributed to the fact that Britain is so badly in debt. People who run up an expense on their credit cards can hinder their chances of opening a reputable bank account or savings account of their choice. This debt accumulation then leaves the person with a bad credit rating which affects the chances of millions across the country, and worldwide, finding a suitable bank account or personal loan, mortgage or further credit cards. This can affect people for decades as debt can go on record for many years.
How to Improve Your Credit Rating
In a general sense, there are simple ways to improve your credit rating. Ways such as, cutting down on general spending (ask yourself, "Do I really need this?" Or, "Am I really going to use this or is it going to be sat collecting dust?!"), paying bills on time as delaying payment accrues additional charges, saving on travel expenses by using alternative transport such as a bicycle, or even grow your own fruit and veg! These things are all good suggestions but do they really work? Well, let's leave that up to you to have a try! In the meantime there is only one way to improve your credit rating and that's by getting yourself out of the debt that got you the bad credit rating in the first place. Again this requires a cut back or more control on your spending (unless you win the lottery!). So, in conclusion, just be careful if you do get a credit card or open a shopping account or such, there is a limit to what you can spend on there, what you spend you HAVE TO PAY BACK.
Bank Account Advice for No Credit Check Bank Accounts
If you do a search on the web, you will find lots of banks that offer a no credit check account. This is helpful to those who may wish to apply for a credit card with their chosen bank. The advice would be to hold a good standing with your account and not run too deep into your overdraft. You would need to transfer any overdraft that is currently accrued if you are switching accounts, so bear that in mind. The no credit check is really useful for those who want to open a bank account with a saving account, and not worry too much about their past mistakes! But it's not a cop out of repairing your finances! I spoke with a Personal Finance Advisor on this subject and he said "The good news is there are bank accounts available for everyone nowadays so this is good news for those with a bad credit history. We are looking to help more people manage their finances; all they have to do is come to us for the support." So help is out there, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!
