Home Based Business tax saving strategies should be one of your primary business goals for a successful business. Working from home has many advantages and disadvantages but one primary benefit you can derive from your home based business is your tax saving benefits. If you have a home business, you need to be fully aware that you will have a variety of tax deductions that you can claim as benefits to help offset your business expenses.

Tax Benefits for home based business sole proprietors:

Home Business

Before starting up a business, it is important to determine the most advantageous setup for your business by consulting a tax accountant or an attorney. Some of the benefits of establishing a business as a sole proprietorship are as follows.

Easier tax returns to file: Tax returns can be filed easier for a sole proprietorship because, generally, you don’t need to provide lengthy and complicated forms. Normally, you only need to fill out a short one or two page IRS form. Generally, these forms are simple enough that you can complete them yourself.

Free from mandatory audit: Filing your own taxes can you a lot of money if you don’t need to pay for an external audit or to hire an Accountant or Tax Consultant to file your taxes.

Dissolution of business: A Sole proprietorship may not have tax implications if you wish to dissolve your business if you don’t have a lot of business assets that you have accumulated.

You can personally manage your expenses and therefore, your deductions: As a business owner, you can determine your expenses and better manage your cash flow and payroll expenses. You can manage your finances and make expense adjustments that will benefit you thru your tax write offs.

Healthcare for you as a business principal and your employees is a deductable expense. Normally, most Proprietors don’t realize that healthcare is a tax deduction and therefore fail to take advantage of this valuable benefit. You will need to check with your Accountant or Tax Consultant to find out the limitations on these deductions.

You will need to fully understand that no matter what type of business structure you form, you will need to report your income, profit and loses and other financial information on tax returns. An advantage with your home based business is that your business income counts towards your personal income and any loses that your business incurs may also be deductible to reduce your personal taxes as well.

Deductions and Claims:

Additional possible deductions for your Home Based Business include your business portion of your home expenses. To find out how much you can claim you need to calculate the amount of space you are using for your business. Suppose you are using 10% of your space for work, you can claim 10% of your heating expenses for the days for deduction. This results in major tax savings.

You may also be able to claim a percentage of the following expenses also. However, make sure to verify that they are deductible with an Accountant, Tax Consultant and/or with your local tax office.
•	Mortgage
•	Rent
•	Telephone
•	Electricity
•	Internet
•	Home insurance

Apart from the above expenses, you may also be able to deduct these additional indirect expenses incurred with regard to your business:

•	Meals and entertainment for business related reasons
•	Advertising Costs
•	Business tools like computer, printer and paper

IRS Restrictions regarding these deductions:

To deduct expenses related to business you need to meet the following requirements.

•	The business space should be used exclusively for the principal business activities.
•	The space should be exclusive place where you meet your clients for business purposes.
•	The space should be used for your personal use for doing normal daily business activities (i.e. phone calls, bookwork and etc.)

Home based businesses are great tax shelters. Though the expenses you incur in your home based business are tax deductible, the tax law varies from Country to Country and State to State. Therefore, you’ll need to find out from your local jurisdiction about the deductions which can you can legally claim for your specific business.

All of a sudden, it seemed, the babies in our family were toddlers and kindergartners. Our family parties were noisy with active kids who ended up in time outs. Our first cookout of the summer was in a couple weeks. Knowing that some of the best memories came from extensive planning, I hunkered down days before our first summer backyard picnic to plan and get ready to have a wonderful time with our grown children and our five grandchildren. The food part was easy, a cook out is always fun. Now, what could I plan for the little ones to do to keep them happy and engaged?

I bought one inch paint brushes and spray bottles from the dollar store. When the kids arrived, I handed each child a spray bottle filled with water and a paint brush and sent them off to “paint” rocks, trees and anything else they wanted to paint within the confines of our fenced in backyard. First they squirted the item with one hand and then used the other hand to “paint” with their brush. They loved it. We had no arguing and plenty of time for the adults to mingle without running interference.

Family

The following is a list of happy and successful ideas for year long fun that keep young kids busy, happy and not so prone to be in time outs:

Outside Fun:

1-Trampoline-we bought one with a netting enclosure. The parents had as much fun as the little ones bouncing around and chasing each other.

2-Hammock-a brightly colored large size Mayan hammock strung between two trees has become a delight for all five grand kids, all five kids can fit it in while one of the dads pushes them. When he gets tired, they take turns pushing each other resulting in much fun and laughter.

3-Mural Painting-this idea came from the Family Fun website. I took a sheet and hung it on the clothesline. Then I put various colored diluted tempera paint in spray bottles. In their swim suits, the kids pointed their spray bottles at the sheet and painted to their hearts content. When they were finished, we used the hose to rinse it all off and they began again.

4-Stepping stones-this was a big project but very worthwhile. Each member of our family made their own stepping stone to put in my circle garden. My husband and sons mixed the cement in our wheel barrow then poured it into plastic plant plate holders for moulds. They brought things from home to individualize their stones and added some of the things I had available. The littlest kids put their hand or foot print in their stone. We even made one for the dog!

5-sandbox-instead of sand which can be messy, I put birdseed in a plastic tub and gave the kids cups and shovels. They had a blast and the birds later ate the seeds they spilled.

Autumn

6-Annual fall party-we have tons of leaves at our house. I bought enough rakes for everyone. After we are done raking and the kids have had their fill of jumping in the leaf piles, we have a treasure hunt in a big pile of leaves. While the kids are busy somewhere else, I throw a bunch of stuff I purchased at the dollar store into the pile. Grandpa says, “Go!” and the kids dive into the leaves searching for their treasure.

Winter/Spring

7-Special Dinners-to keep the little ones occupied as last minute preparations are being made, there are items laid out to assemble simple centerpieces for our tables. Great Grandma does a wonderful job helping the kids work together. For Thanksgiving, the kids make a food-turkey: a melon for the body, a pear for the head and grapes on skewers for the tail with red peppers cut out for the details. At Christmas, the kids decorated a gingerbread house I put together from a kit. One of the dads piped the frosting and the kids just stuck on the candy. For Easter this year we will make egg flower centerpieces with toilet paper tubes and colored foam. (directions found on the family fun website).

After dinner fun

8-Card game: Fill or Bust is a card and dice game that any child who can throw dice can play. Each player receives points and you can stop the game at any time. It’s mindless, simple and fun. It teaches patience and good sportsmanship.

9-WII-I am so glad we invested in this game. Our family loves the Sports games – especially bowling. This year we received a mini golf game that is exciting and easy to play.

There are tons of ideas on the internet for keeping kids busy. These are just a few ideas I found that work great for our family. I hope you’ll try some out. Family times go much smoother when there’s plenty for the kids of all ages to do.

Intergenerational Family Gatherings – Nine Tried and True Ideas to Keep Kids Engaged

Penny Halder
Granny Grace Productions
http://www.grannygracecares.com My character name is Granny Grace and I am a caring clown specializing in children’s shows. I make kids feel good about them selves, emphasize family values and put laughter in their hearts. My background includes working with children as individuals and in groups for 38 years. I know kids and what they like and need. Please visit my web page and then contact me for information on shows for your child’s school, library or party.
I also have extensive experience and training as the Children’s Bereavement Care Director at Conley Funeral Home during the years 1987-2001

You are a good candidate for a home computer repair business if you have above average skills in this area. Considering the continuous growth of this industry, and the increasing demand for repair services, you should take advantage of this opportunity. A word of caution: don’t be like many home business entrepreneurs that fail because they don’t take the time to prepare the ground for a successful start.

Home Computer Business Opportunity

Home Business

Did you know that sales of computer services this year are expected to exceed billion and most of that amount will be on repair services? In today’s world, almost everyone you’ll encounter either has a computer at home or at work. Most of them would benefit from your services because they don’t know how to repair a computer, and don’t have the time or desire to solve their computer problems.

When starting a computer repair business, some of the services you can provide include: repairs, parts, maintenance, upgrades and software.

Work from Home Computer Business Steps

Competition Comparison – Whether you do full time or part time computer work, first you need to get as much information as you can about your competition. The range of services they provide, rates, availability, how do they advertise, etc. The more you know, the easier will be for you to develop your services and outperform your competitors.

Added Value – Try to be creative and think about some extra services you can offer your customers at little or no cost to you. You need to create added value in the eyes of your clients.

Develop Your Own Niche – You also need to determine what computer services have most demand so you can specialize in a particular field and have an edge over your competition. If you plan to remain a one-person operation, the residential market may suit you best.

License, etc. – Once you decide to start your computer based work at home, you need to get a business name, a business license and liability insurance.

Keep Up to Date – The computer industry evolves rapidly, so you need to schedule time for continued education and training. If your knowledge becomes obsolete, your competition will push you aside. Visit websites such as CNET and ZDNET to get updates on new software applications and new technology seminars being offered.

Home Based Computer Business Plan

Regardless of the business you wish to start, you need a business plan to keep you focused. If you fail to plan, you’re planning to fail. For a general business plan read “Home Business Start Up Basics”. Among the computer repair books, I highly recommend “Spyware and Virus Removal Business”. It gives you a step by step blueprint to build a solid and thriving business doing computer repair work.

Remember that people are entrusting you with their important and personal files stored in their computers. Treat them with care and professionalism as if they were yours. With the necessary information and a good business plan you’ll be able to enjoy the benefits and potential of a work at home computer job.

WARNING! – 95% of the online business opportunities are scams. Don’t be the next victim! Get free information on how to avoid scams and choose the best legitimate business opportunity.

Building a family tree or going through one’s genealogy is one of the most fulfilling and rewarding undertakings one can do in his lifetime. Oftentimes though, people are intimidated, if not clueless on how to execute such. Hence, more often the not, they disregard the interest to look up relatives and family history, and just go by life, not knowing the possibility of tracking notable or unexpected relatives.

It must be known however that there are many ways on how to make possible genealogy tracking. There are many websites which offer tips, instructions and actual software which enables one to trace family lineage, allowing him to build a family tree online.

Family

Most friendship and networking sites in fact offer the possibility of tracking of relatives although these may not offer very thorough and very reliable service. These sites, most people are familiar with, Friendster, Hi5, Multiply, Facebook and a lot more. Since these sites, most often than not, are primarily used for picture posting and a little chit chat. They are hardly used for family lineage tracing to allow one to build a family tree online.

One of the best tips, of course, in building a family tree online is going through actual family records stored in the attic or treasure chests of great grandparents. Of course, if they are senile, their memories may not serve them right. This brings the genealogy researcher to zero. One of the best alternative search mediums though are readily available in most homes – the internet.

The internet, once one types in keywords in most search engines – genealogy, family tree, family lineage, etc. – offers a plethora of sites to choose from. These sites, such as My Heritage, Tribal Pages, Ancestry, Family Search offer the clueless lineage researcher some aid. These sites, basically offer leads in finding birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates, and most pertinent documents relative to the identification of various people belonging to a respective family tree. In effect, having available these documents should allow tracing of people and their “position” in their respective family trees. Some of these sites also lead one to the identification of criminal records, census information or even tax information. The great thing about the internet is its capacity to allow “accessibility” even to locations from opposite segments of the globe. The internet would not require plane fares, manual library digging, directionless legwork, etc. The downside is, most old documents are still not available via electronic file. Hence, there is a vast amount of files relative to one’s ancestry that is not accessible via the internet. Careful information filtering and discernment amongst a pile of files (some records may show misspellings or unusual alternate name or surname combinations) would be required in this task. This can be pretty daunting.

Funeral homes, cemeteries, local statehouse or municipal offices may provide additional clues and verifications in this search process. Apart from birth and death records, most of these places lead to links of children and grandchildren of the person. This should be an extra viable source of information.

Do you believe in the saying “Reap what you sow”? This is true with having a positive mental attitude. If you have a positive mental attitude, you have a mindset of success and abundance. Likewise if you think negatively, expect things to go the wrong way.

Positive mental attitude is about believing that you have the ability and the resources to reverse the ugly situation you are in at the moment. This is an attitude you cannot fake but you can empower yourself with, here is how.

Attitude

God created us with intellect and free will. Therefore we have the gift and ability to know and choose the things that will make us happy. Apply law of attraction in your life. If you let positive things rule your mind and your heart you are bound to attract positive things. You have an idea already of what’s going to happen if you do otherwise, right? Pack your heart and mind with happy thoughts and be with happy people. Believe me these people are great agents of happiness. Happiness is infectious.

You can never have a clear view of things around you and be positive if your mind is full of worries and anxieties. Adopt positive attitude, dream big and make plans. Start the day right by setting the right mood for the day. Condition your mind that what will be ahead for you the whole day are things that will make you happy. Look and feel good inside and out. Exercise is one of the best ways to eliminate toxins and negative things clouding your mind. A healthy body leads to a healthy mind.

Stay focused. Always remember that you are your own boss when it comes to your life. Do not be so melodramatic about all the misfortunes coming your way; instead face them with determination and say, “I can if I think I can”.

Use your mind’s amulet in conquering the trials and challenges that block your path towards success and happiness and that is positive attitude. Constant motivation will succeed in winning the battle.

Life is a constant battle, a battle between you and trials in life. It is just a matter of being constantly armed with strong faith and patience. This will allow the brain to think clearly to arrive with better solutions for a better life.

Sometimes life sucks, that is a fact. Another fact is it is up to you if your life remains that way for a long time.

Positive Mental Attitude and Its Benefits

Benefit from having positive attitude now!

The most important thing that we do in our experience is to relate with one another. To not be able to relate successfully makes life very difficult for many. I have done thousands and thousands of sky maps for thousands of people over my long years of being a professional astrologer. Probably the single thing that was most important to the person being read was relationships of all varieties. At the end of life, relationships or the lack of them were what was valued most, regretted most and controlled the end of life circumstance the most. At the core of relationship issues are the initial and primary relationships we form with our early family. Here is where our values are established and developed to become the basis for the relationships we build for ourselves in our future. As we mature, we form our own individual family circles plus a myriad of other relationships into which we enter. Family is where we begin our journey to understand and develop all relationships.

In previous articles I have written about the parental axis, the 4th/10th houses of any sky map, as well as the individual maternal and paternal roles. However, the family is not just our parents or lack of them. Each of us has a long, rich history within our family, good guys and bad guys. There is a genetic heritage. Yes we can see the physical characteristics that are handed down through the gene pool. But there is far more than what we inherit from our families on other levels. I am exploring this family astrological heritage step by step through a series of articles.

Family

Any sky map is constructed with the earth (on which we all exist) in the center and the cosmic energy pattern existing around that central core. If we were on the Moon, sky maps would be constructed with the Moon in the center. On Mars, Mars would be in the center, etc. The wheel shape is called “the chart” and the divisions are called “houses.” There are 12 divisions of the houses just as there are 12 sign divisions for the zodiac. The signs show mannerisms, expressions and are descriptive in nature. The houses illustrate 12 compartments or arenas of physical experience. Each of those twelve houses therefore must contain numerous issues and also the people in your life. The whole of the wheel maps the whole of your life, every single thing. The trick is to learn to read that sky map successfully, which can be more involved than it seems. Our focus for this article will be on the people represented by the houses, particularly the members of your family.

Houses General house information will help us reach the point where we can see the validity of the people representations. Remember that the 12 houses begin with the ascendant and are listed counter-clockwise from that point around the wheel. Psychologist Carl Jung divided human expression into four categories: intuition, emotion, sensation, and thought. In brief:

· The left half of the wheel (rising planets) represents the development or the interests of self.

· The right half of the wheel (setting planets) represents involvement with others or the interests of others.

· The bottom half of the wheel represents the time from dusk to dawn, the introspective, internalized, reflective self.

· The top half of the wheel represents the time from dawn to dusk, the externalized, participatory, extroverted self.

· The four angles of the house wheel represent the point of beginning for each of the four quadrants of the chart.

· The general activity of all four chart quadrants are in this order from the Yung perspective: intuition, emotion, sensation, thought.

· The ascendant is the angle that begins the personal, subjective first three houses of intuition (1, 2, 3).

· The IC or 4th cusp is the angle that begins the subjective, other involved next three houses of emotion (4, 5, 6).

· The descendant is the angle that begins the external, other involved three houses of sensation (7, 8,9).

· The midheaven is the angle that begins the external, self-interest three houses of thought (10, 11, 12).

These few sentences describe the hemisphere and quadrature influence of houses. In addition,

· The angular house for each quadrant is dynamic active, visible, directly related to the individual.

· The succeedent house follows the angular house in each quadrant (succeeds the angle) and represents establishing, building, formalization of that quadrant’s issues.

· The cadent house follows the succeedent house and represents adaptation and promotion.

· In brief, the angular house activates, the succeedent house formalizes, the cadent house promotes the issues of a quadrant.

· The round of the three types of houses begins again at the next angle.

There is one more explanation of the cadent house that will help you understand its role better. Adaptation is the key word here because the dynamic influence of the angle is followed by the establishment influence of the succeedent house, which is a logical sequence for experience. However, it would be difficult to move from building brick by brick (establishment) to the dynamic activity of an angle because form would tend to resist the initiation of something new. The cadent houses bridge this gap between the establishing principal of one grouping of three houses (quadrature). and the dynamic principal at the beginning of the next grouping of three houses (quadrature). Using this rationale:

· The 3rd house bridges (adapts) the subjective self-aware first quadrant as it encounters the subjective awareness of others or emotional quadrant initiated by the 4th house. Intuition gives way to emotion.

· The 6th house bridges (adapts) the subjective awareness of others quadrant as it encounters the objective awareness of others or sensation quadrant initiated by the 7th house. Emotion gives way to sensation.

· The 9th house bridges (adapts) the objective awareness of others quadrant as it encounters the objective awareness of self or thought quadrant initiated by the 10th house. Sensation gives way to thought.

· The 12th house bridges (adapts) the objective awareness of self quadrant as it encounters the subjective awareness of self or intuition quadrant initiated by the 1st house. Thought gives way to intuition.

· The cadent houses are therefore key to understanding the point of flux, adaptation, bridging within the chart and are definitely more important than surface reading would indicate.

If you will add this information on the houses with what you already know about the houses, this material should add a layer to your understanding. Read slowly and re-read as necessary.

People of the Houses Who are the people represented by the houses? Everyone in your life is in that wheel somewhere. We will begin with the four angles and the technique we will use is the derivative house system or what I call “wheeling the houses.”

Self Many are aware that the cusp of the first house is called the ascendant and represents the physical presence of the person or entity represented by that sky map. Much of the descriptive reading about a person comes from that cusp and that house as well as that person’s personal projection, response to its environment and coping skills. This is how the world sees us, through the filter of the sign on the ascendant and the planets in the first house. In brief, the first house and its cusp represents the most personal point of the physical self, the “me” point of the wheel.

Partner Diametrically opposed to the ascendant is the descendant or 7th house. This is the point of the chart that is farthest from the point of self and may be described as the not self or the shadow self. This point represents the qualities we do not want to embrace and that we project onto another (partner). It is interesting that this represents the point of committed or contractual partnerships whether those relationships are personal (such as marriage) or business (such as partnership). Our committed partner is supposed to represent all the things we do not choose to express. What action do we do at this cusp? We commit to a person, walk into a house, lock the door behind us and attempt collectively to turn the house into a home. The way to a successful conclusion is to learn from that partner and embrace our own lesson. That way we can be with a person because we choose to, not because we must go to school with them as teacher.

Parents The 4th/10th axis (cusps) represents our parents (or lack of them), the parental roles themselves. I want to back up for a moment and mention that this pair of houses is called the security axis and represents our internal and our external security needs. Our parents are supposed to fulfill that role or to at least prepare us for that role. There is a great deal of controversy as to which parent belongs in which of the two houses. I did cover that concept in three previous articles so I will not repeat that information here. Briefly, the 4th house parent’s job is to offer internal, subjective security, also known as the family. The 10th house parent’s job is to offer or prepare us for external, objective security, also known as making our way in the world successfully. Some people get lucky and the parents fulfill their roles well. Some people are not so lucky because dysfunction exists which can cause the individual lifelong problems. Not every parent is equipped for the role they have chosen. Some people take the lemons they received from their particular spin of the parental wheel and they make lemonade. I encourage that.

So far we have ourselves (ascendant), our partner (descendant), our parents (both, either, or). What about all the other people that comprise our families? Where can they be found in the wheel?

Grandparents The parents have been shown to be the 4th (and its axis partner 10th) from the 1st house of self. Where are the parents of your parents? They must be located in the 4th house from your parent cusp. You always count starting with the house you are questioning, such as the 4th house parent. Put your finger on that house counting “one” then count forward (counter-clockwise) one house at a time until you reach the 4th house of that 4th parent. That would be the 7th house. The same action would be taken for the 10th house parent but it is unnecessary to repeat the exercise, just look to the axis partner of the 7th or the 1st (you). So your grandparents (you have four) are found on the ascendant/ descendant axis. There are only two houses in this count, so two grandparents belong in one house and two belong in the other. It will take a little work on your part to sort this out, but this is where you go to find the answers.

You will probably have genetic hand-me-downs from your grandparents. Two will have great similarities to you, those who are represented by the 1st house and ascendant. Two will seem less related as they occupy your 7th house of not-self. That probably is part of the generation gap. Physical and non-physical characteristics from those grandparents will evidence in you just as you will pass on certain characteristics to your grandchildren. My deceased father’s contribution to my kids and my grandkids is a specific sense of humor. My mother’s love for dancing and music has shown up as well in my kids and my grandkids as has my paternal grandmother’s beautiful singing voice. My parents and their parents are alive and well in the genetic contribution they gave us all within our family. Thank you for the gifts.

Partner’s parents and grandparents What if you marry? The 7th house will describe your partner and your marriage. It should tell you what and who you are looking for, what you want someone else to do in place of you, and what you are not comfortable with within yourself. At times you are grateful. At other times you will fight the process (and the person). That partner has parents and so those parents will be the 4th from the 7th (and its partner) and we are again back to the 4th/10th axis in the chart. Hmmm. So far we are getting a large number of people in very few houses. Perhaps that will help explain why astrologers concentrate on the angular houses. Hang in there, we will move outside the 4th/10th axis shortly. Your spouse has grandparents (4) as well and they will be shown by the 4th of the parent or the ascendant/descendent axis. Getting crowded isn’t it? Again, this can take some effort but this is where you begin.

Multiple Partnerships All committed relationships are a 7th house issue. It illustrates what you are seeking in a partner because you are avoiding it as yourself. What if you have more than one marriage or partnership? To differentiate, skip the 8th house and go to the 9th house. 7th/9th illustrate your second committed relationship. Skip the 10th and go to the 11th. The 7th/11th is your third committed relationship. More? Busy little beaver aren’t you? Do the same routine: skip/choose. Just skip a house, go to the next one and join it to 7th. This combination should describe each individual person it represents.

Children of all varieties Children are thought to be a 5th house issue. These would be natural children of the body (kids) or the mind (creativity). The oldest child is also described by the 5th. The second child would be the 7th along with the 5th. This 7th house child would be most like your spouse. The third child would be the 9th along with the 5th, and so forth around the chart. If you were to have 5 children, the 5th child would be most like you because that child would be represented by the 5th and the 1st houses. Children of your spouse, adopted children, fostering of children are each represented by your 11th house. Same procedure, maintain the base house but do the skip/choose procedure for each individual. Spouses of your children would be shown by the 7th (partner) of the 5th and additional house influence (child).

One last “child” that may be found in the 5th house could be small pets. Large animals such as horses or elephants are read from the 12th house. We all know people who treat their pets as a child with wraps or costumes, who may eat from your plate, considered a member of the family, be the recipient of lots of baby talk, etc. I am not talking about the ordinary affectionate position of a pet within a family. There should be plenty of emotion and caring for any pet. As you know, some pet owners go beyond even that. With some you may find the 5th house is active or gives a better description of their pet, particularly if there are no natural children or are there are children but they are not available to the person. The pet becomes their child.

Grandchildren A child of your child, your grandchild, is the 5th house from the 5th house or the 9th house for all grandchildren and particularly the first one. Again the skip/choose procedure applies for each additional grandchild The child of your spouse belongs with the 5th from the 7th or the 11th house as its base and skip/choose applies here as well.

Siblings and Partners Do you have siblings? They are a 3rd house issue, all of them. However, we must differentiate for individuality. All siblings and particularly the oldest one are 3rd house. The next in age is the 3rd and the 5th in combination. The next in age is the 3rd and the 7th in combination. Each succeeding sibling would maintain the 3rd and add the next 2nd house skip/choose jump (skip the 8th and go to the 9th). This is how you would look at siblings in general and specific siblings in particular. The partners of your siblings are shown by the house opposite the one chosen for that sibling.

Siblings of Spouse and Their Partners If you were seeking information on the siblings of your spouse, look to the 3rd of the 7th, which is the 9th. This is often referred to as the general in-law house as well. Again the 9th would be all siblings of your spouse particularly the oldest one. Do the same skip count as your own direct siblings, the second oldest sibling of your spouse would be the 9th/11th, and so forth. The partners of your partner’s siblings are showy by the house opposite the one chosen for the siblings of the spouse.

Cousins, Aunts and Uncles of all varieties Cousins fall into the same house arrangement as your siblings (3rd). A spouse’s cousins fall into the same house arrangement as their siblings (9th). Your own aunts and uncles have their basis in the 6th house, same counting arrangement. Your spouse’s aunts and uncles have their basis in the 12th house, same counting arrangement.

In Brief We have looked at the generalities of the houses to establish a reasonable base for understanding our relationships with others, specifically those we consider our family. We then moved on to the relationships we form and how to find them in the wheel. You must start with yourself because you will always be one end of any relationship possibility in your own life. The other end will be one of a number of relatives. In brief:

· siblings and cousins = 3rd house

· parents = 4th/10th houses

· grandparents = 1st/7th houses.

· natural children = 5th house

· foster or adopted children = 11th house

· spouses of your natural children = 11th house

· aunts and uncles = 6th house

· spouse or partner = 7th house

· spouse’s children = 11th house

· grandchildren and in-laws in general = 9th house

· multiples of births or marriage are delineated by the skip/choose house count

. Obviously you will have more and different kinds of relationships as we have explored only the family in this article. Please re-read this article as many times as necessary to clarify. This technique is not the easiest task to do and it will take you a little time to learn. For additional assistance look to articles or information on derivative house systems.

Food is a critical, must-have source of nourishment and energy. Without food we would not be able to perform our daily activities. Our muscles would wither, our nervous system and brains would fail. Whether we like it or not: We all need food.

What you might not know though, is that food has another important role in our lives: Comfort and entertainment. Culturally and instinctively we prepare and serve foods to comfort those who have experienced loss, to celebrate joy, or to show friendship and love. And that’s where emotional eating can cause many problems.

Emotions

What Is Emotional Eating?

Emotional eating is simply the act of eating to feel better emotionally. We, as normal human beings, see food as more than just an energy source for our body. We like to enjoy our food, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Science tells us though, that some foods actually promote good feelings by causing certain “feel-good” chemical reactions in our brains. And that’s when eating can become a problem: Because some people eat to “feel better”… or because they can’t deal with strong emotions such as pain, anxiety, stress, joy, or boredom.

Emotional eaters turn to food as a source of distraction from dealing with feelings. It’s often a vicious cycle though: People eat to deal with their bad feelings, then feel bad for having done so, yet turn around and eat again to soothe the guilty feelings caused by the first round of emotional eating. Needless to say, emotional eating can lead to serious eating disorders, weight gain, obesity, and depression.

How Do I Know If I’m An Emotional Eater?

Do you turn to food when you’re not hungry, but sad, stressed, or bored? Do you think about food constantly, to the point of feeling obsessed?

Do you regularly try diets and fail – leading to guilt and further over eating? Do you think about or attempt to purge excess food by throwing up or using laxatives? Do you exercise compulsively when you think you’ve eaten too much?

If you answered yes to any of the above, there’s a good chance you’re an emotional eater and you could be endangering your health.

How Do I Overcome Emotional Eating?

The first step is recognizing and acknowledging you have the problem. Fixing the problem will take time and persistence, because you effectively need to train yourself out of bad eating habits and into good.

Since emotional eating is caused by using food as a coping strategy for emotional distress, dieting tends to just create more problems, because if you fail to stick to your eating plan you’re likely to feel quite guilty. And as an emotional eater, that guilt will only lead you to eat more.

So instead of trying to focus on what you’re eating, or how much: You’ll need to work at finding other ways to cope with negative emotions. You could try simple things like self talk, chewing gum, or getting busy with work or hobbies when emotions run high and you find yourself digging through the fridge even though you aren’t hungry. You could also try self help tapes and books, or find a support buddy to call. You might also consider getting help from a Personal Coach or Psychotherapist who deals with emotional eating.

Sometimes you’ll need the help of a professional to make these changes

As you work on replacing comfort food eating with other habits and responses, you’ll feel much better about yourself both emotionally and physically. And you’ll be well on your way to living a much healthier, slimmer life!

The internet has exploded into a world power in that we can talk and interact with people and companies from all over the world. Social media like Twitter and Facebook connect family, friends and colleagues from different parts of the globe daily to enhance our lives. Skype allows for us to connect at a personal level in seeing their smiling faces and hearing the voices of our loved ones as well.

What I find so interesting is that when we talk to strangers over the phone, in person or on the internet what stands out is the attitude of each person. Why would we want to work with someone we never met before or may never see face to face? It is the feeling we have when we talk to them and that feeling comes from the attitude they convey to us. Their attitude lets you know how important you are to them; if your needs will be met; if your values and commitment to serve one another mirrors the same core beliefs.

Attitude

When you wake up in the morning ask yourself, “What does my attitude say about me today?” If we are honest with ourselves, some days we may be better off just getting back into bed again! Our attitude not only defines our day but affects everyone we come into contact with. If we have a negative attitude we not only make ourselves miserable but other people we come in contact with as well. You know those people you avoid when you see them coming to speak with you or you see their number flash up on caller ID. We run like they had the plague. I’m laughing because we still use the word plague and most of us have never experienced a plague; we just know we should avoid it like we avoid certain people!

In my coaching practice attitude became a highlighted topic because so many clients felt their attitude affected not only their business life but their personal life as well. At work; for the most part, they had to stay in control, be on their best behavior and act professional according to their work environment. If they were caught off guard often their attitude was not a reflection of the image they wanted to present. Remarks were negative, they were not viewed as a team player and if they were the owner of the company they knew they had just set a poor example for their employees. Words once said are difficult to take back. We try to beg forgiveness for being over-tired, overworked, insensitive, other problems on our mind or in general we just messed up and were not thinking about what we said.

When it was time for them to go home; their loved ones would experience steam being let off from the pressures of the day. Of course these are people who know they are loved and they will forgive us but will they forget! It’s like the dog that would climb under the table when the master came home and they could tell the master had a bad day. Everyone knows you had a bad day by your attitude but was it really a bad day or just a bad habit?

Everyone loves to be around the person who is always in a good mood and we marvel at how they are able to keep calm in a storm. They are able to be at their best because it is a choice and one they have chosen for so long that it is a habit; but a good one. They have discovered the benefits of having a positive attitude and being a person of influence to others in a way that makes them feel good about who they are. When we allow ourselves to have a negative attitude we let our attitude get the best of us and we fall short of who we really want to be.

So how can you improve your attitude? Change the way you think about your life and make a decision to become the best you can be and reach your full potential. My favorite saying is, “Your attitude costs you nothing but could cost you everything! ” Everyone will always have challenges but your attitude reflects who you truly are inside and you are a champion. Challenges are temporary and when we get through one there will be another one! Life is too precious and it is meant to be enjoyed each day regardless of our circumstances.
Emotions run in the basement of the brain. To rise above these primitive and petty masks that overshadow your being, you need to operate from a different center. If the basement is flooded, seek shelter on a higher floor. The water may rise, but so can you!

We can never escape emotions altogether, and shouldn’t expect to as they serve as self-correcting blinders in the navigation of unknown circumstances. Life without emotions (both positive and negative ones) is meaningless.

Emotions

Classification of Emotions

The dualistic nature of the mind gives rise to differentiation, most commonly embraced as the classic struggle between good (the positive, the desirable, life enhancing, pleasure seeking) and evil (the negative, the undesirable, life destructing, pain seeking).

Any emotion, both positive or negative, can be abused by the ‘emotee’, or conversely over-saturate its victim with paralyzing effects.

Negative Emotions

Fear, lust, greed, hate, depression, sadness, disappointment….

Positive Emotions

Love, happiness, compassion, empathy, contentment….

Neutrality and Abuse

Negative emotions are meant to protect us from our environment (including other ‘emotees’). In and of themselves, negative emotions (in the right proportions) can indeed be helpful (and life saving).

People get carried away with the chemically self-induced effects (drug use, jogging) of certain positive emotions like euphoria and love. They become addicted to these emotions and not only crave them but seek fulfillment at the expense of the emotions of others.

Cultivation and regulation

No one likes a ‘goody two shoes’, the well intentioned person who puts on their false face and traipses around spreading self-perceived versions of niceness. Such a person is not being authentic with their emotions. They are merely ‘saving face’ and attempting to avoid conflict.

‘Right intention’ and proper emotions flow from the spirit, and are constantly regulated in our own ongoing feedback / control mechanism (the brain). These emotions are updated instant by instant, and must be allowed to flow freely and find expression. Caged and frozen emotions are roadblocks to success.

To control emotions, one must practice detachment, one benefit learned through various meditation practices. This means to step into the ‘third person’ point of view and observe yourself having an emotional experience, but not identifying yourself with it. The experience will move on and so can you with your life.

The personality of your partner will decide the contours of your relationship. What kind of personality does your partner have? Is it aggressive or passive? If your partner is aggressive and you are also aggressive, do you think that the relationship will survive for long? What if both of you are passive- submissive types? Will that relationship again give any joy? Let us begin with you. Do you know about your personality type? Are you aggressive or passive? Have you thought about that?

An extremely aggressive personality may believe this- I am the world. The world must obey me. I can never be wrong. I know what is to be done and how. All of you must follow what I say without any protest, because I tolerate no dissent. I am the storehouse of all the knowledge and what I do not know is not worth knowing. I am the most intelligent person going around and though I do not show it clearly, I know that all of you are much lower than me in intelligence. I am the boss.

Relationship

A most passive personality will be like this- Please be with me. I do not know how to face the world. I will do what you say, but please protect me from this world. I do not know much and please guide me at every step. I need you. Please help me at all the times.

These are two ends of extreme personalities -the first one – aggressive and the second one -passive. Most of us fall somewhere between the two. Here it is also important to note that we may change from aggression to a passive personality sometimes and vice versa.

Understanding personality trait is very important. When you observe your partner, please note about his/her personality traits. After that sit down and think whether you would enjoy such relationship? If the answer is yes, go ahead; otherwise drop the idea.
