Why It Is Always Right To Do the Right Thing
August 8, 2009 | Leave a Comment
There were times in my life when I had precious little left but my integrity. Ive walked out of an impending business deal I desperately needed to make ends meet because I was told I had to pay a bribe for the deal to go through. I had a major contract sputter and die when I refused to remove all spiritual reference from my motivational material. It was not easy to walk away at those deals not knowing where I was going to get the money to keep going. But for the sake of my character and my future, it was the right thing to do!

We Are Not Told Everything Right Away And For This We Should Be Most Grateful
May 3, 2008 | Leave a Comment
When Jesus Christ sent out these disciples to preach, they were also told to heal the sick.
Jesus Christ is against sickness, and for wholeness.
Jesus is against fear. He wants people to have saving reassuring faith.
Jesus is against sin, and does not wish to see people lost, sore, scared and scarred. He wants to see people found, healed, secure and whole.
On this brief mission they are to take nothing which would hinder or hamper their ministry. They are to be free and mobile and uncluttered. This only applied for a limited period of ministry. At other times they are told to take what they would require.

How Do You Plant Your Corn? How To Lead From Your Strengths And Live A Powerful Life
April 27, 2008 | Leave a Comment
How do you plant your corn? Well, that seems like a weird question, doesn’t it? Please let me explain!
But first, let me ask you: how do you define “true success” in your life? No doubt you definition would include an ample income AND it would probably include some or all of these conditions: good health, a spiritual connection, fulfilling relationships, a sense of well-being, and contribution to the community.
One of the biggest secrets to success is to take personal responsibility for your life and your goals.
Peter Drucker, a business success guru and author of “Essential Drucker,” advises that each day we should spend 85% of our time using and capitalizing on our strengths. What percentage of you day is truly spent utilizing and contributing your strengths and talents? Are you keenly aware of your strengths?

5 Contradictions That Will Make You A Better Leader
April 25, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Leadership doesn’t have a nice little set of rules. Everything that is promoted as a “rule” that has to be followed to become a leader can have many interpretations. In fact, the complete opposite of what the rules say can be as useful as what the original says. That is what this article is about: Contradictions that appear to be mutually exclusive, but really aren’t. These contradictions will make a better leader of you if you put them in practice:

Doing What Almighty God Commands Is What Really Matters And Counts In The End Of The Day

The Flood, which many question today, and wonder if it ever happened, has evidence out with the Bible, as well as that authentic and authoritative account in Genesis Chapter 7.
Because of the wickedness which had spread and the evil which had escalated, a man named Noah, who was regarded in the eyes of God to be just and righteous, is commanded to build an Ark. The measurements - the materials - the reasons - are all given.
God had taken Noah into His confidence, and God shares with Noah truths which no-one else around could have received and believed, and Almighty God gives Noah commands which no-one else would have obeyed.

5 Steps To Successful Leading
April 13, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Some time ago I listened to Zig Ziglar’s audiobook 5 Steps to Successful Selling. The first time I played it, all I could relate it with was the selling of physical products, such as lamps, vacuum cleaners, or computers. The second time, I saw how this selling process was also applicable to the selling of services, perhaps management consulting products or legal advice. But the third go-around was the most enlightening one, since I realized the connection between the selling process and leadership: it was one and the same! This obviously does not mean that all good salespeople will necessarily be good leaders. What it does mean is that all good leaders are in a way good salespeople. Leadership involves selling ideas. It involves trying to persuade people to believe in your ‘product’, which is your vision. Leaders want to gain ‘costumers’, or followers. This is definitely not a breakthrough in human history. Many before me have expressed the link between selling and leading. Nevertheless, it is always helpful to point it out. For that reason, I have decided to attempt to demonstrate, in this short introductory series, how Zig’s 5 Steps could be implemented in the development of the leadership process. The 5 steps are: building a positive self-image, prospecting, having a planned presentation, closing, and following up.

Nothing could put Him off.
There came that point in the life of Jesus Christ when He set His face to go to Jerusalem.
The Son of God comes riding into Jerusalem hearing “Hosanna” which means “Save us now”. Within the week, Jesus would be betrayed, arrested, falsely accused, illegally tried, crucified, dead and buried.
It is a day of emotion, excitement, joy, sadness, rejoicing and weeping, with malice, envy and hatred.
Some two million people would be visiting Jerusalem, to celebrate the Feast of the Passover, remembering that night in Egypt, when a lamb was slain, so that the door posts could be marked with the blood of the lamb. The angel of death came and passed over the homes which had marked doors, in obedience to Moses’ command. If they had ignored or rejected the words of Moses, there would be death in that household. In the blood of the lamb they were safe, protected, covered.

Do you even wonder what keeps certain people going year after year? Those who read these articles must recognise by now that Paul is one of my heroes - NOT an idol, but a hero - there is an immense difference. What make Paul tick? What motivated him? What kept him so utterly faithful when so many circumstances - and people! - appeared to be going against him?
At the end of Acts Chapter 20, in the New Testament, we read of this moving scene, as Paul has this final meeting with these leaders of the Ephesian Church. He speaks of what he had done, and how he ministered during his time in Ephesus. He gives us the core - the heart - of his preaching.

Successful Leaders And Intuition
March 20, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Are you a leader in your organization?
Are you an instigator of change or a catalyst in your family circle, school, church or institution?
Does your work entail initiating change?
Do you want to make a difference?
If you answered “yes” to any of the questions, then you are a leader!
Being a leader is about being a decision-maker and problem-solver. When you are bombarded with decisions or choices, what are your first thoughts? What are the initial ideas that come into your mind? When problems arise or when opportunities come, what ideas first pop in your head? Can you rely on your intuition?

Teach The Children
March 19, 2008 | Leave a Comment
Another spiritual matter drawn to my attention is certainly highly relevant for these present times in which we are living. Following the days of Moses and Joshua something really sad happened. The people rebelled against God and His Word and His ways.
Now, the main reason for rebellion is sin, but the Bible gives us some interesting specific insights as to what went wrong at that particular period in the peoples’ lives.
This should be a warning to every family.
Moses and Joshua were real men living in challenging circumstances, which tested their character and leadership. Moses and Joshua reminded the people over and over again of the laws of God, recalling the miracles God had done, and fathers were commanded to teach the children these things.
